The Risks of Ignoring Lower Back Pain
😫 Lower back pain symptoms can vary, such as pain in the middle of the lower back, on the side, or between the buttocks and lower back. While there are individual differences, the majority of these symptoms are said to stem from misalignment of the spine. The misalignment occurs due to factors like aging and lifestyle habits, particularly asymmetrical use of the body, such as dominant hand or eye, leading to the accumulation of fatigue.
🫤 When the posture that puts a strain on the lower back due to misalignment persists, the lumbar spine—the lower part of the spine—can become excessively rounded or arched. The lumbar spine is normally slightly arched, but if it becomes too rounded, it can lead to conditions like herniated discs or spinal stenosis. Excessive arching can result in spondylolisthesis, increasing the risk of numbness or paralysis in the legs.
🫂 Lower back pain, in this way, can give rise to secondary complications. However, by addressing it promptly, the recovery period can be shortened, and the risk of recurrence can be avoided.
